Kornofolia

The convent of Virgin Mary Portaitissa (Our Lady of the Gate) is in the village of Kornofolia, Evros. It is a dependency of Iviron monastery of Mt Athos. The murals started in 2002 and are “secco” paintings with casein and egg emulsion.
